The Congress on Saturday said that Rajasthan minister Rajendra Gudha was removed from the cabinet because he was speaking the language of the Bharatiya Janata Party. The party Co-Incharge of the Rajasthan unit Amrita Dhawan said that Gudha was given multiple chances and he should have been sacked earlier. "Rajendra Gudha should have been sacked earlier as the Rajasthan minister...His earlier statement on Goddess Sita was not accepted by the party. It will not be acceptable if he speaks BJP's language while being part of Congress. He was given multiple chances and should have been sacked earlier," Dhawan said, as quoted by the news agency ANI.
On Friday, Rajasthan Governor accepted with immediate effect the recommendation of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot to sack state minister Rajendra Singh Gudha from the state cabinet, Raj Bhawan informed, as per news agency ANI. This comes after Gudha criticised the Congress government over recent incidents of crimes against women in the state. He questioned his own government's work in tackling the crimes against women, even as his colleagues slammed the Manipur violence.
Hours after being sacked from CM Ashok Gehlot-led cabinet, Gudha said that he has been punished for speaking the truth. Talking to the media, he said that he was elected by the women of Udaipurwati so that he can protect them and uphold their dignity, but 'day by day, crimes against women are increasing in Rajasthan'. The former minister said the state has become number one when it comes to crimes against women.
