Virat Kohli is one player whose fan following is not restricted to the boundaries of India. The star batter is regarded as one of the modern day greats of the game and has fans worldwide. He is the most followed cricketer on Instagram with 255 million followers on the platform. One example of the same was evident in a recent incident which happened during the second Test match being played between India and West Indies at the Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain in Trinidad.
Moments after Kohli arrived to take the the team bus back to the hotel, West Indies wicketkeeper-batter Joshua Da Silva's mother came and hugged the cricketer. She was quick to take a picture with the Indian batter before she hugged him again. The entire episode was captured by journalist Vimal Kumar who is reporting from the Caribbean. Later, in an interaction with Kumar, Da Silva's mother says the she was there for Kohli and not her son.

Meanwhile, Kohli became the first player in the world to score a hundred on his 500th international match. This was a remarkable fixture as he brought up his 29th Test ton and his 76th three-figure score in international cricket. His hundred in Trinidad marked his first century away from India in the longest format of the game in five years. Riding on his hundred and half-centuries from Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin, India posted a formidable 438 in the first innings.
In response, the West Indies batters have put up a strong fight as they ended Day 2 on 86/1 with captain Kraigg Brathwaite and debutant Kirk McKenzie out in the middle. Brathwaite earlier stitched a 71-run opening stand with Tagenarine Chanderpaul which ended after the Indian bowlers and fielders toiled hard for over 34 overs with Ravindra Jadeja getting the only wicket to fall so far. The hosts, who are 0-1 down in the series, still trail India by 352 runs.
