Aam Aadmi Party MLA Amanatullah Khan said on Monday that a team of the Enforcement Directorate has arrived at his house to arrest him. The AAP MLA has been under the scanner of the enforcement agnecy in a money laundering case linked to Delhi Waqf Board.
"ED people have just arrived at my house to arrest me," said that AAP MLA from Okhla on X.
"It is 7 AM right now. ED has come to my residence to arrest me in the name of a search warrant," Khan said in a video posted on his X account.
"My mother-in-law has been diagnosed with cancer. She had an operation four days ago. She is also at my house. I have written to them (ED) and I have replied to every notice," he said.
The AAP MLA alleged that ED's only motive is to "arrest me and stop our work."
"For the last two years, these people have been harassing me, and filing fake cases against me. Every day, they are creating some or the other problem for not only me but my entire party," he said.
"We are neither going to bow down to them nor are we going to be afraid of them, they will send us to jail. I am hopeful that the way we got justice in the court earlier, this time too we will get justice...," said the AAP MLA.
Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh slammed the federal agency and Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying their hooliganism continues. "There is no evidence against @KhanAmanatullah but both Modi's dictatorship and ED's hooliganism continue," Singh said.
The ED has been questioning Khan in a money laundering case related to Delhi Waqf Board. It has been alleged that he recruited 32 people illegally into the Board.
He has also been accused of illegally renting out several properties of the Delhi Waqf Board and misusing the Waqf funds.
