In yet another showdown, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey on Sunday shared a video clip on social media purportedly showing Congress leader and Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta engaging in an "obscene" phone conversation with a woman. Dubey said that this is the character of the Congress and said that the party should die in shame. He hit out at the party by raking up the infamous ‘Tandoor Murder Case’.

Dubey tweeted the 19-second clip and said, "This is the character of @INCIndia, this is the so-called matter of Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta ji. Playing with dignity of women, Congress worker Sushil Sharma burning his wife in oven, I wish Gandhi family could understand, if this is found true then the Congress should drown itself in shame."

As per PTI, Dubey told the agency that he received the video from a private news portal and that it was still in his possession.

Reacting to the allegations, Jharkhand Minister Banna Gupta said that the video is "fake and edited" and has been circulated to tarnish his image.

In a statement on Twitter, the minister said it was part of a conspiracy and that a complaint had been filed with the police.

“In order to tarnish my image in social media and with a sense of political rancor, some prominent political opponents, under a well thought out conspiracy, have deliberately made a fake and edited video viral. It is clearly visible in the video that photoshop or any other editing This misdeed was done through a app,” Gupta said in the tweet.

He added, “...against whom I have lodged an FIR, soon after the police investigation in this matter there will be milk and water, legal action will be taken against all those people who have tried to implicate me through this fake and edited video. Will take action, Satyamev Jayate!”

ABP Live, however, could now ascertain the accuracy of the video.

Notably, the Congress is part of the ruling alliance in the state led by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and CM Hemant Soren.
