Andhra: YSRCP To Protest Against ‘Lawlessness & Anarchy' Of Chandrababu Naidu Govt In Delhi On July 24

Former CM Jagan Reddy accused the newly formed TDP-BJP-Janasena coalition of attempting to undermine democracy in Andhra Pradesh and asserted that the YSRCP will not tolerate such actions.

YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy announced on Friday that the party will hold a peaceful protest in New Delhi on July 24 to draw national attention to what he described as "the lawlessness and anarchy that have plagued" Andhra Pradesh since N Chandrababu Naidu of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) assumed office as Chief Minister.

Taking to X, YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy said, "We will be holding a peaceful protest in New Delhi on the 24th of this month, the coming Wednesday. This is to draw the nation’s attention to the lawlessness and anarchy that have plagued Andhra Pradesh in the 45 days since the Chandrababu Naidu regime has come to power."

"We have also sought appointments with the Prime Minster @narendramodi garu and Home Minister @AmitShah garu. The new regime is trying to kill democracy in the State and @YSRCParty will not stand for it!" he said.

The protest will see participation from YSRCP MLAs, MPs, and MLCs.

The former chief minister accused the newly formed TDP-BJP-Janasena coalition of attempting to undermine democracy in Andhra Pradesh, asserting that the YSRCP will not tolerate such actions. He alleged that since Naidu took office, there have been 36 political murders and 300 murder attempts. Additionally, Reddy claimed that 37 individuals have died by suicide due to alleged harassment by the TDP, insisting that these conditions warrant the imposition of President's rule in the state, as reported by PTI.

The announcement comes as Reddy visited Vinukonda in the Palnadu on Friday to meet the family of Sheik Rashid, a YSRCP activist who was brutally murdered on Wednesday night.

BJP Reacts

On the letter written by Jagan Mohan Reddy to PM Modi on the alleged atrocities in the state, Andhra Pradesh BJP President Daggubati Purandeswari insisted Jagan to introspect the kind of attacks that he did during his tenure as the CM.

She told ANI, " The former CM Jagan Mohan Reddy had written a letter to PM mentioning the atrocities that are being done to people in Andhra Pradesh. My request to Jagan Mohan Reddy would be to introspect and see the kind of attacks he had done when he was the CM. A 14-year-old boy was burnt alive when he came forward to protect his sister from YSRCP goons..."
