BJP national executive member Sunil Jakhar on Sunday slammed the AAP-led Punjab government over poor governance and said Punjab is getting defamed and it will affect the whole country, reported news agency ANI.
"What is happening today in Punjab is because of CM Bhagwant Mann and Aam Aadmi Party. A local-level gangster who radicalized the youth of Punjab is getting national attention," Jakhar added.
"If Punjab is getting defamed, then it will affect the whole country. The operation that could have been carried out without any force and show-off is now today being done in front of the whole country," said Jakhar, quoted ANI.
The Punjab Police have arrested Daljeet Singh Kalsi alias Sarabjeet Singh Kalsi, an alleged advisor and financer of radical leader Amritpal Singh, chief of pro-Khalistan outfit Waris Punjab De, as the hunt for Amritpal Singh intensifies.
Amritpal Singh is booked under the Arms Act in connection with the incident that led to the filing of the FIR in Ajnala. He is the 'fundamental charged', said authorities.
According to police, four members of an organisation led by Khalistan sympathizer Amritpal Singh, who were arrested in Punjab, were brought to Dibrugarh, Assam, on Sunday, reported PTI.
They claimed that a special flight took them there.
A police officer stated, "The four are currently kept in Dibrugarh central jail," without providing any additional information.
The Dibrugarh Police is probably going to address the media later in the day.
According to officials, the Punjab government launched a significant crackdown on Singh, a radical Sikh preacher and Khalistan sympathizer, on Saturday, with the arrest of 78 members of the group led by Singh.
Meanwhile, Jalandhar DIG Swapan Sharma spoke on Amritpal's arrest and said, "While interception in Mehatpur, the one in front car took a leap during the chase. We have recovered the other two cars. We have recovered seven illegal weapons too. They had some Pakistan-ISI* links," quoted PTI.
The Punjab government has extended the suspension of mobile internet and SMS services until Monday noon. On Saturday, the internet and SMS services were shut down by the state until noon.
