BJP President J P Nadda on Sunday hit at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi saying that those who do not believe in democracy will not have a place in it. While accusing Rahul Gandhi of crossing the boundaries of democracy, Nadda said he should be sent packing "lock, stock and barrel" in a democratically fit method

While speaking during the inauguration of the ‘National Youth parliament’ of BJP’s youth wing Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha in Chennai, he said, "Those who do not believe in democracy have no place in a democracy," news agency PTI reported.

Nadda remarked, “Rahul Gandhi has crossed all bounds of democracy.” Addressing the crowd virtually, he said the Congress party has reached the stage of mental bankruptcy.

He further alleged Gandhi indulged in instigating foreign powers like the US and European countries to meddle in the internal matters of India.

He asked the people not to pay attention to what Rahul said and just 'tolerate' him.

The BJP President said, “Rahul Gandhi not merely insulted the nation by his shameful remarks about the democratic values of India, but has also invited the foreign nations to intervene in our country," as quoted by PTI.

However, the Congress party has denied all charges from the BJP.  The party said Gandhi has been trying to get a chance to speak in the parliament and respond to all the criticisms accordingly.

The Congress said BJP is "misrepresenting" Gandhi’s statements to divert attention from the issue of Adani in the country.

Earlier, while having interactions in the UK, Rahu Gandhi said the structures of Indian democracy were under attack in India. He said there was a "full-scale assault" on the democratic institutions in India.

His remarks have caused a political slugfest in India as the BJP has been saying that he maligned the image of India in a foreign country.

Meanwhile, Delhi police arrived at the residence of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi in connection with the notice that was served to him earlier on Sunday.

The police had sought information on the 'sexual harassment' victims that he mentioned in his speech during the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Special CP (L&O) Sagar Preet Hooda has reached his residence for the same.

Talking to reporters, Special CP Hooda said that the Congress leader has been informed and he is aware they are here. He said that he was there for information on the notice that was earlier sent to him.

Hooda said that since Yatra went through Delhi and he lives here, they have come to his residence to get information.

Reacting to the development, Congress leader Rashid Alvi told ABP News that it was very unfortunate and the BJP was trying to silence the voice of opposition in the country.
