The 'Men in Blue', ranked number one team in ICC Men's T20 rankings, had a decent run in 2022. The team remained unbeaten for nine back-to-back bilateral series in the shortest format throughout 2022 but failed to win a trophy in major T20 tournaments. Team India faced heartbreaking losses at the Asia Cup 2022 and T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.
Despite not being able to win a trophy in major ICC events in T20 format, team India's die-hard fan base can still boast of the fact that they managed to end the five-match T20 International series against mighty South Africa in a 2-2 draw in June and won in eight other T20 series.
Out of a total 71 matches played by team India in 2022, they won 46 matches, lost 21, one match resulted in a draw and three matches were no results. Across formats (Tests, T20Is and ODIs), team India had an impressive win percentage of 64.78.
