World Wrestling Entertainment's SummerSlam event in 2020 was a historic and path breaking event in the history of the sports entertainment company as it successfully managed to stage its first event outside the WWE Performance Centre since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The 'Thuderdome' at the Amway Centre in Orlando which served as the state-of-art venue for the 2020 SummerSlam lived up to its billing for staging the second biggest PPV event after the flagship Wrestle Mania as a galaxy of superstars were in slam bang action in some gruesome wrestling match ups to fight for glory and to defend their major WWE championship titles.

Headlining a spree of notable results on a high flying action night which included a galaxy of WWE superstars at 2020 Summer Slam, Drew McIntyre defended his WWE title beating the 'Apex Predator' Randy Orton while 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt out wrestled Braun Strowman to become the new WWE Universal Champion.

Asuka got back her WWE RAW Women's championship title with a win over Sasha Banks, though with a little bit of help from Bayley. Meanwhile, Dominick Mysterio's SummerSlam debut ended in a brutal loss to Seth Rollins.

The glittering PPV event drew to a grand closure and the perfect ending, much to the fans delight with the return of one of WWE's most popular and revered stars Roman Reigns. Right after the Strowman and Bray Wyatt match for the WWE Universal Championship, which 'The Fiend' Won after hitting Strowman with three Sister Abigail ended, Reigns made his way to the ring. He first struck Bryan Wyatt with his signature sphere and then thrashed Strowman with a steel chair.
