The first-ever auction for Women's Premier League (WPL) will take place on February 13, Monday at Mumbai's Jio Convention Center. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is all set to organise the tournament for the first time on the lines of IPL. Earlier, Women's T20 Challenge tournament was played as 'Women's IPL' with just three women's teams in it. The BCCI scrapped it and announced a five-team Women's Premier League.
Of the 409 players shortlisted for the WPL 2023 auction, 246 are Indian. 163 players are foreigners, including eight associate countries.
