Wimbledon 2022 Round of 16 Men’s Singles produced some great results as top contender Novak Djokovic advanced to the quarter-finals of Wimbledon as he defeated Van Rijthoven 6-2, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2. The match lasted 2 hours and 39 minutes as The Centre Court saw the World Number 1 march on with ease. There was also an upset on the cards as Carlos Alcaraz crashed out of Wimbledon at the hands of 10th seeded Jannik Sinner 6-1, 6-4, 6-7, 6-3. Much was expected from Alcaraz but he couldn’t live up to it as another disappointing early exit paved way for another young sensation, 20-year-old Jannik Sinner, to stamp his footprint into the quarter-final as his prowess was on display at the Centre Court in an entertaining affair that lasted 3 hours and 35 minutes.

The home crowd’s hopes of seeing a local champion stayed alive as Cameron Norie (9) defeated Tommy Paul in straight sets 6-4, 7-5, 6-4 to advance to the quarter-finals of the Wimbledon 2022. Elsewhere, unseeded Belgian David Goffin too progressed to the quarter-finals after winning his thrilling and entertaining 5-setter Round of 16 matches against Frances Tiafoe 7-6, 5-7, 5-7, 6-4, 7-5.

There will be four more matches to be played on July 4 as Wimbledon will see the end of the Round of 16 on Monday. French Open winner Rafael Nadal will be in action against Van de Zandschulp, whereas Australian Nick Kyrgios will be in action against American Brandon Nakashima and rest two matches will see Garin face De Minaur and Kubler taking on Fritz for the remaining spots in the quarter-final of Men’s Singles event of Wimbledon 2022.
