WATCH | COVID-19: Pakistan's Azhar Ali To Auction Bat, Jersey To Raise Funds

As Pakistan battles the deadly coronavirus, Test skipper Azhar Ali took to Twitter to announce that he will auction his gear - that includes bat, jersey. Azhar will auction his bat with which he scored a triple ton in a D/N Test against Windies. The jersey put up to auction is Azhar used in the famous 2017 Champions Trophy final which Pakistan won against host England. The jersey also has autographs from the then Pakistani squad which featured in the showpiece event. "I put 2 of my closest belongings on auction with base price of 1 million PKR each to support People suffering due to ongoing crisis. Auction starts now will close on 11:59 PM 05May20," Ali tweeted.

"The shirt is from 2017 Champions Trophy which we won, it has the signature of all the players which were present in the squad," Ali said in a video posted on Twitter. "Both these things are close to my heart but if it can be used in the difficult times for the benefit of the people I will more than happy," he added. Earlier, former South Africa skipper AB de Villiers took to Instagram to announce that he and team India skipper Virat Kohli on Monday put up their kits from a 2016 Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Gujarat Lions for auction to aid the battle against deadly coronavirus (COVID-19). In the match, RCB's Virat and De Villiers, both scored centuries and shared a 229-run partnership to help their side win the game. The money raised will be split in half between charities working in South Africa and India.
