New Delhi: Today was a very special day for India in the Tokyo Paralympics 2020. Medals were literally raining for India at the Tokyo Paralympics on Monday, August 30. India won as many as seven medals, including two gold, four silver and a bronze, to take their overall tally to 7 medals on Day 6 of Tokyo Paralympics 2020 and go past their best-ever tally of 4 medals (Rio in 2016 and Stoke Mandeville/New York in 1984).
It all started with 19-year-old Avani Lekhara securing a historic gold medal in women's 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1 final. Yogesth Kathuniya won a silver medal in Men's Discus F56 event. Devendra Jhajharia then won silver medal in Men's Javelin F46 event. In the same event, Sundar Singh won the bronze medal. Sumit Antil then shattered his previous world record to add second gold medal to India's tally.
