Mohammed Shami viral video: Indian cricket team's senior speedster Mohammed Shami, who was brought in by the BCCI as injured Jasprit Bumrah's last-minute replacement for T20 World Cup 2022, bamboozled in-form finisher Dinesh Karthik during India's net session at the Gabba. Karthik has been in top form ever since his inspirational return to the national team but Shami, who hasn't played a single match for India in the shortest format since last edition of T20 World Cup, uprooted Karthik's stumps. The senior pace bowler was initially named in standbys when India's squad for T20 World Cup 2022 was announced and now, he is leaving no stone unturned to make a case for himself ahead of the marquee event.

Just days before flying for Australia, India's chances of winning the T20 World Cup 2022 suffered a huge blow as their leading pacer Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out of the tournament due to back issues. Deepak Chahar was another player who was one of the frontrunners to replace Bumrah in Indian squad but he too got injured, making way for senior seamer Mohammed Shami.

Before this, India played two warm-up games against Western Australia, organised by the BCCI. The visitors won first match and lost the second.
