Karachi: After a heated agument broke out between former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed and left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi during the Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators match of the PSL, Afridi through a Twitter post clarified that it was "heat of the moment" and he always respect his seniors.
Taking to his official Twitter handle, Afridi in a post wrote, "Saifi bhai is the pride of all of us. He was and will always remain a captain for me. Whatever happened in the game that day was heat of the moment. I should have stayed quiet in respect of him. I have always respected my seniors and pray and wish the best for @SarfarazA_54 bhai."

Soon after Afridi's post, Sarfaraz reacted saying, "It’s all good bro. Whatever happened in the field it should stay in the field. You are the star of Pakistan too. May Allah give you more success in life. You are little brother to me. All is well"
His statement came after the two Pakistani national players indulged in a verbal spat during PSL taking place in Abu Dhabi. The argument took place after Sarfaraz was hit on the helmet by a bouncer from Afridi which was declared a no-ball by the umpire.
The two had to be separated by the Lahore captain Sohail Akhtar and senior Mohammad Hafeez and the umpires in the 19th over of the Quetta innings on Tuesday.
During the innings break in the match between Lahore and Quetta, Shaheen said "It's all part of the game. I also don't like being hit for a boundary." The cricketer later said that Sarfaraz asked him to apologise for the bouncer. "Why should I do that? It’s my right to bowl bouncers."
The match was won by Quetta Gladiators. They scored 158 runs in the first innings, with Sarfaraz scoring 34 runs. Lahore Qalandars were bundled out for a score of 140 runs. Usman Shinwari who took 3 wickets was adjudged man of the match.
