MS Dhoni recently led Chennai Super Kings to a record-extending fourth title win in the history of cash-rich T20 tournament. After IPL, Dhoni traveled with the Indian cricket team to UAE as a mentor for the T20 World Cup 2021. After CSK defeated KKR by 27 runs to win IPL 2021 final in Dubai, MS Dhoni had said his future in IPL depends on how Chennai Super Kings will be looking at the upcoming player auctions.
"Again I've said it before, it depends on BCCI. With two new teams coming in......we have to decide what is good for CSK. It's not about me being there in top-three or four. It's about making a strong core to ensure the franchise doesn't suffer. The core group, we have to have a hard look to see who can contribute for the next 10 years," Dhoni said at the post-match presentation.
