Indian cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar took to Twitter to express his condolences following the unfortunate demise of senior leg-spinner Piyush Chawla's father Pramod Kumar Chawla. Piyush Chawla's father Pramod Kumar Chawla on Monday died after battling complications related to the dreaded Covid-19. Piyush Chawla's father was around 60-years-old.
"It's heartbreaking to know about the demise of Piyush's father. May his soul rest in peace. My condolences to him and his family & praying that God gives them all the strength to help endure this loss," Sachin Tendulkar tweeted on Tuesday.
Mourning his father's demise, Piyush Chawla said he lost a "pillar of strength".

"With deepest grief, we announce that my beloved father, Mr Pramod Kumar Chawla, left for the heavenly abode on 10th May 2021. He was suffering from covid and post covid complications. We invite your kind thoughts and prayers in this difficult times. May his noble soul rest in peace," Piyush Chawla posted with a picture of his father.
Piyush Chawla, who was the main man in Punjab’s team for some time, is the number three in the list of players with most wickets in IPL. Chawla has 156 wickets in 164 matches. He has a knack of picking wickets in the middle overs. He was picked by the Mumbai Indians this year.
