Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent his wishes to Rishabh Pant after the star wicketkeeper had to be hospitalised following a life-threatening car accident on the Delhi-Dehradun route. Rishabh Pant was coming from Delhi when his car collided with a divider at Roorkee's Narsan border about 5:30 a.m, near Hammadpur Jhal. The 25-year-old was the only one in the car at the time of the collision.

Pant was admitted to Saksham Hospital for initial treatment but was later shifted to Max Hospital, Dehradun. As per BCCI, he is stable and MRI scans will be conducted to determine the gravity of his injuries.






Few hours after Pant's accident, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) issued an official statement, detailing the extent of his injuries. "Rishabh has two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, toe and has suffered abrasion injuries on his back. Rishabh’s condition remains stable, and he has now been shifted to Max Hospital, Dehradun," it read.


Meanwhile, former India skipper Virat Kohli, several former and current cricketers too prayed for Pant's speedy recovery.


Kohli took to Twitter and wrote, "Get well soon @RishabhPant17. Praying for your recovery."






Talking about Rishabh Pant's career, he was not named in the recently announced Indian squads for upcoming India v Sri Lanka ODI and T20I series, set to commence from January 3.
