Carlos Alcaraz continues to live up to his enormous talent and promise, becoming the first man outside the "big four", Djokovic, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray to win a Wimbledon title in 21 years. Alcaraz defeated Novak Djokovic, on a court where the Serbian had previously won four times in a row.

Following Alcaraz’s win, the God of cricket Sachin Tendulkar took to Twitter to congratulate Carlos Alcaraz for winning the men's single Wimbledon Open, possibly the highest accolade an athlete could receive. Tendulkar also drew a comparison between the 20-year-old Spaniard and the Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer.

"What a fantastic final to watch! Excellent tennis by both these athletes! We’re witnessing the rise of the next superstar of tennis. I’ll be following Carlos’ career for the next 10-12 years just like I did with @Rogerfederer", wrote Tendulkar.

Master Blaster has been a great admirer of Roger Federer and the two have met on multiple occasions. Tendulkar has often been seen in the Royal Box for Federer's matches at Wimbledon.

Alcaraz's mental toughness was tested in addition to his physical prowess and shot-making skills, but he showed what it takes to become a champion by staging an epic comeback. Despite losing the first set 6-1, the young Spanish player battled back to win the second set tiebreak, ending Djokovic's streak of 15 straight major slam tiebreak victories.

For Carlos Alcazar, Wimbledon’s new champion, it was his only fourth tournament on grass. It was another crowning achievement in Alcaraz's brief career, adding to his 2022 US Open trophy to give him a second Grand Slam title.
