Madrid: Real Madrid players will wear kits made from Ocean's recycled plastic during La Liga's 13th round match against Sporting Gijon on November 26.

Stars like Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo, Welshman Gareth Bale and Frenchman Karim Benzema will wear these kits that will match the official jersey made by German manufacturer adidas, but in this case woven from recycled ocean plastic, reports Efe on Saturday.

This development comes in the wake of an agreement between adidas and Parley for the Oceans, an ecological platform that aims to preserve the environment.

Real Madrid will be the second European club to use this type of T-shirts after Germany's Bayern Munich wore them on November 5.

"At this point, it's no longer just about raising awareness" about environmental damages, said Cyrill Gutsch, founder of Parley for the Oceans, in a statement.

"It's about taking action and implementing strategies that can end the cycle of plastic pollution for good," Gutsch added.
