New Delhi: The Indian cricket team has suffered a major blow coming into the One-Day-International series against West Indies after senior all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was ruled out of first two ODIs of three-match ODI series. The Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) medical team is monitoring Jadeja's right knee injury. Team India management has named Shreyas Iyer as vice-captain in Jadeja's absence. 


"Team India all-rounder Mr. Ravindra Jadeja has sustained an injury to his right knee and has been ruled out of the first two ODIs against West Indies. The BCCI Medical team is monitoring his progress and a decision on his participation in the third ODI will be taken accordingly," BCCI said in a media release. 






India vs West Indies 1st ODI is being played at the Queen's Park Oval Stadium in Trinidad and the next two matches of this three-match series are to be played at the same ground on 22nd and 27th July. Shikhar Dhawan is named as the captain of the team for the ongoing ODI series against West Indies, while Ravindra Jadeja was made the vice-captain.
