PAK vs SL: Babar Azam Surpasses Virat Kohli, Becomes Fastest Asian To Complete 10,000 Runs In International Cricket

Babar Azam is at number five on the list of the fastest players to score 10,000 runs in world cricket. Above him in this elite list are Sir Viv Richards, Hashim Amla, Brian Lara, and Joe Root.

New Delhi: Pakistan captain Babar Azam has completed 10,000 runs in international cricket while batting in the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle. He has become the fastest Asian player to reach this milestone. Babar has broken the record of former Indian captain Virat Kohli, who had attained this record in 232 innings. Babar registered the milestone four innings before him. He completed 10,000 runs in international cricket in his 228th innings.

Babar Azam is at number five on the list of the fastest players to score 10,000 runs in world cricket. Above him in this elite list are Sir Viv Richards, Hashim Amla, Brian Lara, and Joe Root.

Talking about Pakistan vs Sri Lanka 1st Test, in front of Sri Lanka's score of 222 runs, the visiting team lost its 7 wickets at 104 till lunch. Babar scored a brilliant century (119) runs in the first innings. During his innings, he faced 244 balls, hitting 11 fours and two sixes. 

Babar has become the first ever captain of Pakistan to score a century in a Test match in Sri Lanka. This is Babar's ninth Test century as captain and his 25th international century in 204 international matches. Despite Babar's century, Pakistan is 4 runs behind Sri Lanka's score in the first innings.
