NZ vs PAK: The two-match Test series between New Zealand and Pakistan ended in 0-0 draw, and now the focus has been shifted to three-match ODI series, starting from January 9. On the eve of NZ vs PAK 1st ODI, Pakistan's interim chief selector Shahid Afridi invited the entire team at his residence for a dinner. Pakistan Cricket Board's official Twitter handle posted a video in which the Babar Azam-led side were seen having a great time at Shahid's house. The first One-Day-International between Pakistan and New Zealand will be played in Karachi, Monday. The white-ball series is of importance for both teams, especially ahead of this year's ODI World Cup in India.

"An evening spent at Shahid Afridi's house with the team getting a chance to meet legendary squash player Jahangir Khan," wrote PCB.

Shahid Afridi, the interim chief selector, likely to continue As Chief Selector

Shahid Afridi has been named the interim chief selector for home series against New Zealand but a report in PTI suggests that the former Pak skipper might continue as chief selector even after PAK vs NZ series while, later this month, Mickey Arthur is expected to make a decision on whether to return as Pakistan's head coach.

“Shahid has had talks with PCB Chairman Najam Sethi who had initially convinced him to work as interim chief selector but now discussions have taken place on the possibility of the former captain continuing in the role given that this year Pakistan has two major events -- the 50-overs Asia Cup and the World Cup in India,” PTI reported.
