Pakistan vs New Zealand: Babar Azam remains on the radar of critics for his lacklustre captaincy in Test cricket. Pakistan failed to win a single Test match in 2022 and were 'whitewashed' 3-0 by England on home soil in a three-match Test series in December, last year. Pakistan's two-match Test series against New Zealand ended 1-0 with the hosts failing to win a single Test.

Pakistan's all-format skipper Babar, for quite some time now, has been facing the heat from many current and former players for his style of captaincy and team's horrid run in World Test Championships 2021-23.

During a presser after the recently concluded 'drawn' second Test against New Zealand, a journalist's speculative query regarding Babar's future as captain irked the cricketer. The journalist asked Babar whether he thinks that soon the Test captaincy will be taken away from him.

"Aap ko pata hoga kaptaani kis ke paas jaa rahi hai. Mujhe nahi iss cheez ka ilm.," (You will know who the new captain is going to be, I have no idea about this,)" Babar replied to the journalist.

Pakistan vs New Zealand 2nd Test ends in a draw

Talking about Pakistan vs New Zealand 2nd Test in Karachi, Pakistan avoided defeat to draw the Test, courtesy of a hard-fought ton from wicket-keeper batter Sarfaraz Ahmed.

New Zealand were on the verge of winning the series as they needed just one wicket after dismissing Sarfaraz for a career-best 118 with 39 balls to spare, but the pair of Naseem Shah and Abrar Ahmed played 21 balls and stayed on the field until the umpires decided to halt the play due to bad light.
