Watch: Tabraiz Shamsi's Peculiar 'Shoe-Phone' Celebration After Taking Wickets Against Pakistan

PAK vs SA, T20Is: Every time after taking a wicket, the South African spinner took off his shoe and held it near his ear, pretending to call someone.

In the first T20I match played between Pakistan and South Africa, the hosts had to face a crushing 4 wickets defeat at the hands of Pakistan. There was nothing special for South Africa in this match, but African spinner Tabraiz Shamsi's peculiar celebration raised quite a few eyebrows.

The unusual celebration took place twice in Pakistan's innings when Shamsi picked wickets of Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Hafeez in the 10th and 14th over, respectively.

Every time after taking a wicket, the South African spinner took off his shoe and held it near his ear, pretending to call someone.

Shamsi took 2 wickets for 29 runs in 4 overs in the first T20 against Pakistan. He celebrated both his wickets with great passion but this was not enough for his team to win against Pakistan.

Few years ago, South African player Rassie van der Dussen had revealed that Tabraiz Shams pretends to call his hero Imran Tahir by taking off his one shoe every time after taking a wicket.

"Yeah Shamsi always phones to Immy (Imran Tahir). Immy is obviously one of his heroes, and they work together a lot. So it was a nice moment for Shamsi to take a big wicket of Dhawan like Immy for us," van der Dussen had said.
