India are enjoying a memorable time in Paris, and with Simran Sharma's medal win, the medal tally of India reads at 28 medals.

The Indian fans have flooded the social media with their tweets, as the nation erupts in joy and congratulates the Indian Para athlete on her achievement.






The Indian Prime Minister, Naredra Modi, too congratulated the 24-year-old on her historic achievement.






Women's 200m - T12 Final | As It Happened


Simran Sharma, alongside her guide Abhay Singh, competed in the final alongside Cuba's Omara Durand Elias; Venezuela's Alejandra Paola Perez Lopez; and Iran's Hajar Safarzadeh Ghahderijani.


In the final, it was Cuba who bagged the Gold medal 23.62 seconds, followed by Venezuela with the silver medal by clocking 24.19 seconds, and Simran Sharma won the Bronze medal by finishing her race in 24.75 seconds.


The Delhi-based athlete achieved her Personal Best record, but that was not enough for a Gold medal. Irrespective of that, it was a valiant effort which led to India securing their 28th medal.
