Ravi Dahiya Wins Silver: While Prime Minister Narendra Modi termed it a major achievement when he won a silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics, the Haryana government made several announcements.
Ravi Dahiya Wins Silver: Indian wrestler Ravi Dahiya has won a silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics. However, he missed out on a gold medal in the final. Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) wrestler Zavur Uguev defeated him in the finals. Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar has announced a reward of Rs 4 crore to Ravi Dahiya. At the same time, Ravi also announced the construction of an indoor stadium at Nahari village in Sonepat.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated wrestler Ravi Dahiya, who won a silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. PM Modi said, "Ravi Kumar Dahiya is a fantastic wrestler. Their fighting spirit and penance is excellent. Congratulations to them for winning the silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. India is very proud of his achievements."
India's Ravi Kumar Dahiya and Russian wrestler Javur Yugave were facing each other for finals at the Tokyo Olympics. The world was watching this 57 kg weight category competition. Ravi Dahiya is the second Indian wrestler to reach the Olympic final. Sushil Kumar had earlier reached the final in 2012.
India bags 2nd silver medal in wrestling
This is India's second silver medal in wrestling. Sushil Kumar had earlier reached the final of the London Olympics 2012 but had to settle for a silver medal. India won its second silver medal at the Tokyo Games. Earlier, weightlifter, Mirabai Chanu had finished second in the women's 49kg weight category.
Khashaba Jadhav was the first wrestler to win India a medal in wrestling. He won a bronze medal at the Helsinki Olympics in 1952. Sushil then won bronze in Beijing and silver in London. Sushil was the only Indian to win two individual event medals at the Olympics and now badminton player PV Sindhu equalled it by winning bronze here. Yogeshwar Dutt also won a bronze medal at the London Olympics. Sakshi Malik won the Kanse tag at the Rio Olympics 2016.
