India had a historic Day 2, but suffered few defeats later on, with Table Tennis producing yet another loss. Overall, a learning day for the athletes, and the Indian faithful will be hoping for more medals on Day 3.

Ramita's performance once again shows that it's not over until it's over. She did not have a very good start to the qualification but she upped her ante when it mattered the most and eventually finished reached the 10m rifle final.
Ramita has become the second female shooter in the past 20 years, after Manu Bhaker, to reach the medal round. She is also the first female rifle shooter since her coach, Suma Shirur (Athens 2004), to make it to the Olympic final.
Good news!! Ramita Jindal has qualified for the 10m Women's Air Rifle final, finishing 5th with an aggregate score of 631.5.
Unfortunately, Elavenil Valarivan missed out on a spot. Despite leading Ramita in the first five series, she had a disappointing final series.
Elavenil scores 103.8 in her sixth and final series, finishing with 630.7 and dropping out of the top 8, currently placed 10th. Final standings are yet to be decided. Ramita has climbed into the top-8 bracket.
Elavenil shoots another 105.3 in the fifth series but drops a couple of places to sixth. However, she remains within the top-8 bracket.
Elavenil is on the verge of reaching the final, having scored 105.8, 106.1, 104.4, and 105.3 across the first four series. Ramita Jindal is performing well but is currently outside the qualification spots.
Elavenil is currently in 4th place, while Ramita is in 8th in the women's 10m air rifle qualification round. Both Indians scored 105.3 in their fourth series. With 20 shots remaining, the top eight shooters will qualify for the final.
India's Balraj Panwar secures 2nd place in the repechage round behind Monaco's Quentin Antognelli, advancing to the quarterfinals. Good news for India.
After the 3rd series, Elavenil Valarivan stands 4th with 316.3 points, while Ramita Jindal slips to 10th with 315.2 points.

A sensational second series of 106.1 propels Elavenil to the second spot in the women's 10m air rifle qualification round.
Ramita delivers an impressive 106.0 in her second series, climbing from 21st to 8th place. Meanwhile, Elavenil, who has yet to complete her second series, is currently in fourth. The top eight will qualify for the final.
PV Sindhu is off to a strong start against her Maldivian opponent, winning the first game 21-9 in less than 20 minutes.
Elavenil Valarivan shoots an impressive 105.8 in her first series, placing her in fourth, while Ramita Jindal scores 104.3. The top eight scorers after 60 shots each will advance to the final.
PV Sindhu's opening match also gets underway. She is facing Fathimath Nabbah Abdul Razzaq of Maldives in the women's singles Group M. Sindhu has won a medal in each of the last two Olympics.
The competition is underway at the Chateauroux Shooting Centre, with Ramita Jindal and Elavenil Valarivan competing in the 10m Women's Rifle qualification round.
The International Testing Agency (ITA) has provisionally suspended Nigerian boxer Cynthia Temitayo Ogunsemilore for violating anti-doping rules ahead of her opening fight at the Paris Olympics. Ogunsemilore was scheduled to make her Olympic debut on Monday in the -60 kg category.
