BJP MPs Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput were shifted out of ICU and admitted to a room at Delhi's RML hospital after improvement in their condition, doctors said. The MPs had alleged that Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi pushed them during BJP and Congress protests on the Parliament complex on Thursday. The Congress, on the other hand, had claimed that BJP MPs pushed Mallikarjun Kharge and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra at the Makar Dwar of Parliament.
"Rahul Gandhi pushed an MP who fell on me after which I fell down...I was standing near the stairs when Rahul Gandhi came and pushed an MP who then fell on me," Sarangi had said after getting injured.
"Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput were shifted to the room, however, some important tests are yet to be done," RML Hospital's Medical Superintendent Dr Ajay Shukla said. He added that a team of doctors is taking care of both of them.
Sarangi Has Injury On Cheekbone
The doctor said Sarangi has an injury on his cheekbone and there is discolouration. His CT scan was to be done on Saturday but he had weakness so the CT scan, X-ray and some important tests could be done on Sunday. Sarangi was also checked by an eye doctor on Saturday.
Giving updates about Rajput's health, the doctor said he is constantly complaining of dizziness. The doctors will decide if they will be discharged after seeing their test reports.
Many BJP leaders, including Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Baijant Panda, Sambit Patra and Giriraj Singh reached the hospital to enquire about their health. "Even now Mukesh Rajput ji has swelling on his head. He is not feeling well. Pratap Sarangi ji also starts feeling dizzy. That day he (Pratap Sarangi) said that Rahul Gandhi ji behaved like a bouncer...This incident is shameful. You are the leader of the opposition and not a bouncer... It is good that you have taken training in self-defence...They had deliberately gone to fight. This was not right, they could have lost their lives, but God saved them," Giriraj Singh said.
After both the MPs are discharged from the hospital, the police will also take their statements.
