With the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 done and dusted and Euro 2024 nearing its climax, sports fans are looking forward the start of Paris 2024 Olympic Games. India had produced its best-ever performamce at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, which was delayed due to Coronavirus pandemic and was eventually played in 2021. The country will look to better its tally. For that to happen, the Indian contingent will hope that the athletes who have won a medal in the past are able to replicate their performance with others able to add to the medals tally.


Here is a look at India's past Olympics medal winners who will be featuring in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.


Neeraj Chopra


India's brightest medal prospect is the ever-consistent Neeraj Chopra. The men's javelin thrower won the Gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics which was his first-ever Olympic Games. Chopra became the first-ever track and field athlete to win a medal at the Olympics. The fact that he struck gold made it all the more special. But the entire nation would want him to win it again and become the first-ever athlete to win two Olympic gold medals in an individual discipline.

Mirabai Chanu


Mirabai Chanu gave India immense joy when she won a silver medal on the first day of the Tokyo Olympics itself. She had won the medal in the 49 kg weightlifting category. In the buildup to the Paris Olympics, Mirabai sustained an injury much like Neeraj but has recovered well and would be eyeing for a second successive OIympic medal.


PV Sindhu


To date, PV Sindu remains the only individual athlete to boast of multiple Olympic medals. While she had won a silver medal at Rio 2016, she was not part of the Gold medal match in 2021 but managed to hold on to a bronze. Can she become the undisputed most decorated Olympian ever from India with another medal preferrably a gold? Entire country backs her to do so.


Lovlina Borgohain


Lovlina Borgohain win a silver medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. She lost the semifinal to settle for a Bronze but would be geared up to better her result this time around in Paris. Shehad succumbed to a 0-5 defeat in the semifinal at Tokyo Olympics.

Indian Men’s Hockey Team


The Indian men's hockeyt team won its first medal in Olympics in 41 years. In the bronze medal match against Germany, India looked down and out at one stage, trailing 3 goals to 1 but held on to their nerves to win the match 5-4. Several players from that winning team will be part of the team that competes in hockey in Paris 2024 and they would be looking to add a medal to India's name in the French capitals.
