Tokyo Olympics 2020: The excitement is increasing in the country as Tokyo Olympics are about to start in few days. To encourage the players, many states have announced to honour and felicitate the players if they win medals. Along with this, the states have also announced a cash reward of Rs 25 lakh to Rs 6 crore for their players. 


If a player from Haryana wins a gold medal in the Olympics, the state government will reward him/her with a cash prize of Rs 6 crores. On the other hand, if a player from West Bengal wins gold, he will be given a cash reward of Rs 25 lakh. Apart from this, the Delhi Government has also announced a cash reward for its players for winning medals. The players from Delhi will be rewarded Rs 3 crore for winning gold medal, Rs 2 crore for winning silver medal and Rs 1 crore for winning bronze medal. Moreover, an amount of Rs 10 lakh will also be given to the coach who helps the player in their winning performances. 


Odisha and Chhattisgarh announced a reward of Rs 6 crores 


The Odisha and Chhattisgarh governments have also announced a cash reward of Rs 6 crore to the players of their respective states for winning gold medals. Karnataka and Gujarat have announced a cash amount of Rs 5 crore to their players for winning gold in Tokyo Olympics 2020. 


Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has also offered a cash reward of Rs 2 crore to the players of his state who bags gold in the Olympics, 1 crore for winning silver, and Rs 75 lakhs for winning bronze. The Maharashtra government has also announced a cash reward for the players who will win in the Tokyo Olympics. Maharashtra has announced a cash reward of Rs 1 crore to its players for winning the gold medal in the Olympics, Rs 75 lakh for the silver and Rs 50 lakh for the bronze.


Cash reward by the Central Government as well 


The Central Government will also provide a separate cash reward to all the athletes who will come back home winning medals in Tokyo Olympics 2020. A cash reward of Rs 75 lakh will be offered by the Central Government to the athletes who win gold medals, 50 lakhs for winning silver and Rs 30 lakhs for the bronze.
