Bajrang Punia Suspended By United World Wrestling, Set To Miss Paris 2024 Olympics
India has suffered a huge blow in their medal contention at Paris 2024 Olympics as Bajrang Punia has been suspended by the UWW. Here are the details.
Famous Indian wrestler and 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games gold medalist Bajrang Punia has been suspended by the United World Wrestling (UWW) in concern with the ongoing Doping Case, as the Olympic medalist has reportedly violated the Code of Conduct by not undergoing a Doping Test. As per the orders from NADA (National Anti Doping Agency), the wrestler was handed a provisional suspension on April 23 but despite of the NADA's take on the accused wrestler, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) took a bold decison to sponsor the training of the multiple-times medalist.

Bajrang Punia's Aggresive Fight Back Against The Accusations
Bajrang Punia has taken to social media platform 'X' (formerly Twitter) to express his anger at the people trying to accuse him, and the Indian wrestler has made his case by being vocal enough and uploading videos. The wrestler, as reported by PTI, also justified that he had never declined to undergo a Doping Test but wanted clarification from NADA upon the issue of expired sample kits.

"Suspended for the following reason until Dec 31, 2024. Provisionally suspended by NADO IND for alleged ADRV (Anti-Doping Rule Violation). I am also surprised that SAI cleared it. I have actually cancelled my plan, I am not going anywhere for training now," said Bajrang Punia, as reported by PTI.
