ABP Impact Makers Conclave 2024: Navdeep Singh, India’s javelin sensation who secured his first Paralympic gold at Paris 2024, made history by becoming the country's first-ever gold medallist in the F41 men’s javelin throw category. Hailing from Panipat, Haryana, Navdeep not only gained fame for his record-breaking performance but also for his passionate celebration, which quickly went viral and drew comparisons to India’s cricket icon, Virat Kohli. Speaking at ABP Impact Makers Conclave 2024, Navdeep opened up on his high-energy conduct on the field and comparisons with Kohli.

Navdeep Singh won the gold at Paris Paralympic 2024 after he claimed the top spot with a personal best throw of 47.32m after Iranian athlete Sadegh Beit Sayah, who had been leading, was disqualified in the F41 event. Navdeep's celebrations after his gold-winning throw went viral as he celebrated passionately, leading fans to compare his enthusiasm to that of Virat Kohli, who is well-known for his spirited celebrations on the cricket field.

Navdeep Singh's Reaction On Comparison With Virat Kohli

In an exclusive interaction with ABP Live, the host asked Navdeep that he is often called the ‘Virat Kohli of Javelin Throw’ after his passionate celebration. Navdeep humorously responded that every athlete experiences emotions for their sport, and it just so happened that his emotions were captured on camera.

"It wasn’t about emotions, it was about the game. And in sports, there's always passion. In Haryana, it's in our soil and blood. So, it wasn’t like I was trying to show off. Every athlete has it—whether it's Virat Kohli, Neeraj Chopra, or anyone else. It's just that my emotions were captured on camera," laughed Paralympic 2024 gold medallist in javelin for India, Navdeep Singh.
