ICL is an institution set up in 1942 by a group of spirited and dynamic youngsters hailing from different corners of India to promote sports and culture. In the sports arena, especially football, ICL carved out a niche for itself by becoming the first non-Calcutta team to win the prestigious IFA shield in 1953.
The aim is to identify the young talents in the football arena and nurture and mentor them so that they are transformed into international players. Apart from that, continuous engagement with sports would instill a competitive spirit in the young kids so as to make them resilient and subsequently responsible citizens of India having their footprint across the globe.
"This is my first visit to India and I am extremely proud to be associated a great institution like ICL Education Society and its visionary leaders. I believe Goalkeepers Coaches Program for football coaches as well as footballing training program for kids are two unique initiatives which catapult India to occupy a pivotal position in international football. Tim Wohlfardt, Coach, Oliver Kahn Academy, Germany said.
The project is the brainchild of Kaushik Moulik. He said, “ The interest and awareness of young kids to take football as a career has grown in letter and spirit in the last few years. We strongly believe that meticulous training by Oliver Kahn Academy would help the students learn football more scientifically and empower them to find a place in the international arena.
A an additional cherry on the cake , legendary Goalkeeper Oliver Kahn has sent autographed cards and goalkeeper gloves for children that were handed over to them by Tim Wohlfardt.
