Manu Bhaker's 'controversial' Khel Ratna snub witnesses yet another exciting angle, as the multiple-times Olympic medalist has finally opened up on her situation, via a tweet from her official 'X' account.

The Paris Olympics 2024 star performer has stated that it is her duty to perform well for the nation and that, 'awards are merely motivation and not a goal'.

"With regards to ongoing issue for my nomination for the most prestigious khel ratna award- I would like to state that as an athlete my role is to play and perform for my country. Awards and recognition keeps me motivated but are not my goal. I believe there has been a lapse, maybe on my part while filing for the nomination which is being corrected. Irrespective of the award I shall remain motivated to win more medals for my country. It is a request to everyone, please do not speculate on this matter," wrote Manu Bhaker on X.

Here's a look at the viral tweet:

Manu Bhaker created history at the Paris Olympics 2024, where she became the first-ever Indian athlete to win two medals at a single Olympics, and is also the only Indian athlete alongside PV Sindhu to win more than one Olympic medal.

The Women's Air Rifle shooter's Khel Ratna snub was not taken well by her father, who lashed at the government for allegedly ignoring the achievements of her daughter.
