New Delhi: From urging MS Dhoni not to retire to collecting 20 Lakh rupees for the 1983 World Cup winning team, veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar's love for cricket was never hidden from the world. Not only she loved the sport but also was very close to legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.

The batting maestro used to call Lata Mangeskar 'aai (mom)'. Sachin too loved Lata Mangeshkar like a mother and on several occasions admitted that he sees his mother in the veteran singer.

Meanwhile, Sachin took to Twitter to pay his heartfelt condolences for the singing icon. Lata Mangeshkar passed away on Sunday at the age of 92 after a prolonged illness. She was hospitalized on January 8 after she tested positive for Covid-19 and was experiencing mild symptoms.

"I consider myself fortunate to have been a part of Lata Didi’s life. She always showered me with her love and blessings. With her passing away, a part of me feels lost too. She’ll always continue to live in our hearts through her music," Sachin wrote in the caption of his post on Twitter.
