New Delhi: Rohit Sharma is well known for his love for football. Often during the practice sessions Rohit even wears football studs while fielding. The hitman who is on a break from cricket due to injury decided to spend quality time in Madrid. La Liga's Brand Ambassador from India not only visited the city but also saw the El Classico from the stands.

The Spanish Derby between Real Madrid and Barcelona is the most watched and followed club football match since last few years and with the presence of footballers like Messi and Ronaldo, it is undoubtedly the biggest derby in club football level.

Real Madrid defeated the arch rivals Barcelona 2-0 with Junior and Mariano scored the winning goals for Madrid. With this victory they are just one point clear of Barca and are on top of the table with 56 points after 26 matches. 81 thousand spectators were at the stands and cheered their respective teams last night.

Apart from watching the El Classico, Rohit also visited the places of tourist attractions like Royal Palace and Chocolateria San Gines and Plaza Mayor.

Rohit Sharma sustained calf injury during the last match of the T20 series against New Zealand and missed the ODI and Test series. India from a brilliant start in T20 series had slumped to all time low in ODI and Test series against the Kiwis.

After a 3-0 drubbing in the 50 over format India performed miserably and we're outplayed in both the Test matches in Wellington and Christchurch, respectively. From experts to fans, everyone is missing Rohit's towering presence as an opener.

Team for the ODI series against South Africa will be picked within a few days. Chances are high that a few key cricketers might be given rest and few who were out with injuries may make a comeback.

With T20 World Cup to be played this year, Rohit is now eyeing to do well in the IPL which starts on 29 March and prepare himself well for the build up to the T20 WC in Australia.
