India’s batter Virat Kohli on Wednesday met the Royal Challengers Bangalore women’s team and shared his knowledge with the players before their clash against UP Warriorz. RCB clinched their first win in the Women’s Premier League after defeating UP Warriorz by 5 wickets. RCB took to its Twitter handle and shared pictures where Kohli was spotted having a pep talk after the match.

“How to turn a Setback into a Comeback – who better to talk about this! Extremely grateful to @imVkohli for spending time with the team and motivating them before today’s match!” the tweet said.

Talking about the match, Ellyse Perry starred with the ball as she picked 3/16, and as a result UP based franchise were restricted to just 135 in 19.3 overs. In reply, 20-year-old Kanika Ahuja played a match-winning knock of 46 off 30 balls with the help of eight fours and one six. She stitched a 60-run partnership with India keeper Richa Ghosh (31 not out from 32 balls, 3x4s, 1x6s) who also played a crucial knock.

However, RCB suffered a few early blows in the form of skipper Smriti Mandhana, who got out without troubling the scorers. She was snared by Deepti Sharma off the third ball she faced. Sophie Devine also got out after scoring just 14 runs.

Earlier, UP Warriorz had outplayed RCB by a massive 10 wickets at the Brabourne Stadium. Alyssa Healy amassed 96 not out in the winning cause.
