The Women's Premier League is turning out to be quite a tournament. Even though only seven matches have been played in the inaugural season of the competition, there has been a lot of shuffle in the points table. With a top of the table clash in the league on Thursday at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai with the Mumbai Indians taking on Delhi Capitals, it was expected to be a cracker-jacker of a game.

However, unlike the hype MI registered a dominating win in this match. They first bowled out DC for 105 with the help of a clincial bowling peformance led by Saika Ishaque (3/13), Issy Wong (3/10) and Hayley Matthews (3/19) before chasing down the score with 5 overs to spare.

Yastika Bhatia top-scored in MI's run chase with 41 off 32 balls while Matthews scored 32 off 31 but Nat Sciver-Brunt and captain Harmanpreet Kaur returned after finishing the chase for the teama and winning the match by 8 wickets.

The result now means that Mumbai are the only team to stay unbeaten in the competition. The victory has consolidated their position at the top of the table with three wins from three games. Delhi, too, hadn't faced a defeat in their first two fixtures but lost on Thursday to taste their first loss.

The sides are placed number 1 and number 2 on the table respectively. Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bangloare haven't opened their account on the table and are at the rock bottom of the table. UP Warriorz are third while Gujarat Giants are at the fourth place.
