IPL 2022 runners up Rajasthan Royals registered a dominating win over Delhi Capitals at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Saturday. After being asked to bat first, the inaugural champions posted a solid total of 199/4 riding on half-centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler and a fine cameo from Shimron Hetmyer.

In the run chase, Delhi Capitals were off to a nightmarish start losing Impact Player Prithvi Shaw and Manish Pandey off successive deliveries in the very first over. While it was new-ball bowler Trent Boult who bowled his second double-wicket maiden of the season who was responsible for the dream start for RR with the ball, captain Sanju Samson who got out for a duck with the bat, also played a part in Shaw's wicket.

Notably, the wicketkeeper had taken a sensational catch diving to his right to dismiss Shaw. However, when the team's head coach Kumar Sangakkara was praising Samson for his leadership skills in the match he did not mention his catch inhis speech after which the skipper outstretched his right arm to remind Sangakkara of his catch after which the coach mentioned the same, leaving the rest of the players in splits. The video of the same was shared by the franchise on social media.

Take a look:

This was Rajasthan's second win in three matches while Delhi's third defeat on the trot. Post the defeat, several questions were raised on the batting peformance of the Delhi side especially of their captain David Warner who has been amongst the runs but has been striking at a rate of less than 120. On Saturday too with his team needing 200 to win, the southpaw failed to find the right tempo and eventually managed 55-ball 65.

DC will play their next match against Mumbai Indian who are also yet to find a win in the competition and are fresh of a loss against arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings.
