There is a reason Mahendra Singh Dhoni enjoys massive popularity in India. The cricketer is the only Indian captain to have won the ODI World Cup after Kapil Dev. Moreover, he is only captain to have won all the three ICC trophies in white-ball cricket. Perhaps the one shot which people will Indian fans will always remember from his career will be the six that he hit to win the 2011 World Cup final against Sri Lanka.
As India celebrated 12-year anniversary of that iconic win, his IPL franchise shared a video of him playing a similar shot at the nets which has left in nostalgia.

Dhoni is currently leading Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2023. The team did not get off to a winning start. They played the tournament opener against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Friday (March 31) and scored 178/7 in their 20 overs with the help of Ruturaj Gaikwad's 92 off 50 balls.
In response, Gujarat chased down the total in 19.2 overs riding on Shubman Gill's 63 off 36 balls.
"We all knew there will be dew. We could have done a bit more with the batsman ship. Ruturaj (Gaikwad) was brilliant, he times the ball well and he's a pleasure to watch. The way he picks his options, it is pleasing to watch. I think it's important for the youngsters to step in," Dhoni said at the post match presentation heaping praise on Gaikwad.
He was impressed by Rajvardhan Hangargekar's IPL debut who scalped 3 wickets for 36 runs in his first match in the tournament.
"I think Raj (Hangargekar) has pace and he will get better with time. Think the bowlers will get better, a no-ball is something that's in your control, so you need to work on that," he added.
