Chennai Super Kings veteran all-rounder Mooen Ali took a brilliant catch against Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 on Wednesday. His catch left everyone stunned including skipper MS Dhoni, as he grabbed one to dismiss LSG’s Karan Sharma. Karan was not looking comfortable in the middle and he was looking to free his arms as he tried to smash one over Moeen’s head but was caught at the end.

Jiocinema’s official Twitter handle shared a video of Moeen’s heroics and wrote, “You know it's a stunning grab when even Dhoni goes. Rate this Moeen Ali catch”.

Talking about the game, rain tried to play spoilsport in the 20th over but then by the time rain came in, Ayush Badoni had placed his team in a decent position after coming in to bat at 44 for 5. The right-hand batter smashed two fours and four sixes in his 33-ball-59 and showed a terrific mindset on a tough surface and helped LSG score 125 runs in 19.2 overs.

For CSK, it was their spinners who starred with the ball. Mooed Ali took 2/13 in 4 overs, Ravindra Jadeja scalped 1/11 in 3 overs while Maheesh Theekshana picked up 2/37 in 4 overs, keeping Lucknow batters under a tight leash.

Earlier, at the toss, presenter Danny Morrison told Dhoni that it is his last IPL and in reply, the CSK skipper said, "We'll bowl first. The fact that wicket was under covers and it looks a bit tacky, so we'll look to bowl first. You have to see all conditions and venue. For us, Deepak (Chahar) is fit, so he comes in for Akash (Singh). Rest of the team is the same. (On whether he's enjoying the support on a farewell) You've decided it is my last IPL, not me".

As far as the points table is concerned, LSG and CSK are placed second and third on the points table with 11 points from 10 games. LSG are ahead because of their good run rate  (+0.639) while CSK have +0.329.
