Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) all-rounder Washington Sundar has been ruled out of the rest of the IPL 2023 season owing to a hamstring injury. The same has been confirmed by the franchise on Thursday.
Washington featured in as many as seven games for the Orange Army in which he scored 60 runs apart from taking three wickets with the ball. He has been ruled out with his side reeling at the ninth position in the ten-team table.
Apart from being a massive blow to the franchise, this also raises concerns over how the player has been unfortunate with his injuries as this is the third successive IPL season where he has picked up an injury midway. While he was ruled out of the 2021 season of the competition in UAE with a finger injury, he them missed games of IPL 2022 due to a split webbing on his bowling hand before now missing effectively half of the league stage with a hamstring issue.

After his IPL 2021 injury, he was forced to miss the white-ball leg of India's tour of South Africa in January 2022 as he had tested positive for COVID-19. Post that, it was a hamstring problem that had prevented him from taking part in a three-match T20I series against West Indies at home.
Meanwhile other than his injury in IPL 2022, Washington sustained an injury on his left shoulder while fielding for Lancashire during a county fixture. That meant he had to miss out on the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe.the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe.
