Former India skipper Virat Kohli, on Saturday, completed 15 years with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The franchise celebrated the momentous occasion by paying an emotional tribute to the legendary Indian batter. Virat Kohli was acquired by RCB ahead of the inaugural season of Indian Premier League (IPL) and ever since then he has played only for the Bangalore-based franchise in the cash-rich T20 tournament, making him the only cricketer in international cricket to play every season of IPL to date while being associated with the same team.

Celebrating 15th anniversary of Virat’s association with RCB, the franchise shared a special post for Virat and captioned it, "15 years of the King in RCB colours. #OnThisDay in 2008, we signed Virat on Day 2 of the #IPLAuction in the Under-19 player draft system. For everything you have done and continue to do for us, #ThankYouKing #PlayBold @imVkohli."

Ahead of 2022 season of IPL, Virat Kohli relinquished captaincy of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). RCB, in all 15 years of IPL, are yet to win their maiden IPL title. Three times, the franchise has failed to win the IPL trophy, despite making it to the final.

Virat Kohli is arguably the greatest batter in history of IPL. He holds the record of scoring the maximum runs in the history of IPL. While playing for RCB in IPL, Virat has so far amassed over 6000+ runs. He has also scored the maximum runs by a batter in an IPL season - 973 runs.
