'12 Cups A Day': Smriti Mandhana Reveals Ellyse Perry's Obsession With Masala Chai In Viral Video- WATCH
Smriti Mandhana scored 58 off 37 as RCB beat UP Warriorz by 23 runs in match number 11 of WPL 2024
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are having a better season in the Women's Premier League (WPL) this time around. While they began their inaugural season with a string of losses and recovered to finish fourth on the five-team table in 2023, this time around RCB have 6 points from 5 matches and have won a game more than they managed last season already. In their most recent encounter, they beat UP Warriorz by 23 runs with each of Smriti Mandhana and Ellyse Perry smashing half-centuries.
While Mandhana scored 80 off 50 deliveries, Perry chipped in with a score of 58 off 37 as RCB posted 198/3 batting first at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. In response, UP Warrioz could only muster 175/8 in their quota of 20 overs with Alyssa Healy top-scoring with 55 off 38 balls, an innings which went in vain. In a fun interaction post the match, the two chief architects of RCB's victory, Mandhana and Perry talked about the Australian's obsession for 'masala chai'.
"What time is the best to have a Masala Chai," Perry asks in a video shared by WPL on its official social media handle.
"Not at your time, for sure. You’ll probably have 12 cups of Masala Chai. For an Indian, it’s 9:30 in the morning and 4 o’clock in the evening. 2 cups are enough, but she has 12 cups. In all the shoots, she had 10 cups a day. I was like ‘Pez, don’t have so many’,"Mandhana said.
