RR vs PBKS Highlights, IPL 2024: Punjab Kings (PBKS) beat Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 5 wickets in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 faceoff at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati, Assam on Wednesday (May 15). Punjab's stand-in captain Sam Curran produced an all-round show to help their side taste a win as Punjab first kept Rajasthan down to 144/9 before chasing it down with 7 balls to spare.


While Curran scalped 2 wickets for 24 runs off his 3 overs, he then returned to score an unbeaten 63 off 41 as PBKS, who are already out of the race of IPL 2024 Playoffs, beat RR who have a guaranteed place for themselves in the final four of the competition.

Local Hero Riyan Parag's Effort In Vain In RR vs PBKS, IPL 2024 Clash


As far as RR are concerned, even though captain Sanju Samson won the toss and elected to bat first, their innings never really took off. Guwahati's local hero Riyan Parag did play a fighting knock and top-scored with 48 off 34, getting out in the last over of the innings but that along with R Ashwin's 28 off 19 could not see them past a 150-run mark.

For PBKS other than Curran's effort with the ball, Rahul Chahal (2/26) and Harshal Patel (2/28) were equally impressive. Punjab too did not get off to a great start in the run chase but the 63-run stand for the fifth wicket between Jitesh Sharma (22 off 20) and Curran helped them get neat the target before Curran and Ashutosh Sharma saw the team home.

For PBKS, Rilee Rossouw had also scored 22 off 13 as the side out of the Playoffs race stunned RR who had sealed a place in final four but have now succumbed to their fourth defeat in a row.
