The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction, which took place over two days in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, witnessed several record-breaking moments. The event, which concluded on November 25 (Monday), featured 577 players, including 367 Indian cricketers and 210 from overseas. A total of 182 players were sold for a combined value of Rs 639.15 crore.
Rishabh Pant made history by becoming the most expensive player ever in the IPL history, securing a deal worth Rs 27 crore with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Shreyas Iyer became the second-most expensive player in the tournament’s history after being signed for a record Rs 26.75 crore by Punjab Kings (PBKS). England’s Jos Buttler emerged as the most expensive overseas signing, going to Gujarat Titans for Rs 15.75 crore.
