Unsold Players At IPL 2025 Mega Auction: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction concluded on November 25 (Monday) after 577 players, featuring 367 Indians and 210 overseas cricketers, were shortlisted for the two-day event held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Of the 577 players, 182 players were sold for a combined sum of Rs 639.15 crore over two days. While the mega auction saw some historic records being created, the two-day extravaganza also saw several big names fail to attract any bids from franchises.

Rishabh Pant made history by becoming the most expensive player ever in the IPL history, securing a deal worth Rs 27 crore with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Shreyas Iyer became the second-most expensive player in history after being signed for a record Rs 26.75 crore by Punjab Kings (PBKS). At the same time, 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi from Bihar made headlines as the youngest player to be bought in the auction, joining Rajasthan Royals (RR) Rs 1.1 crore.

However, while some players celebrated becoming millionaires, the auction also saw several big names go unsold. Notable players such as David Warner, Prithvi Shaw, Steve Smith, Kane Williamson and Shakib Al Hasan were among those who failed to attract bids from any franchise.
