RCB Officially Change Name To Royal Challengers Bengaluru
While earlier the franchise had hinted at a name change in a video posted on their official social media handle, they officially changed the name at the RCB Unbox event on Tuesday. RCB, which earlier stood for Royal Challengers Bangalore, now stands for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The franchise also unveiled a new logo and a brand new jersey which will be effective immediately. However, the acronym of the team stands as it is.
RCB feature in the IPL 2023 opener against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Friday (March 22). While RCB have never been able to have their hands on the trophy, they will be meeting five-time champions CSK in the opening clash of the season. Virat Kohli, who had cited personal reasons to stay out of the home test Series against England, and welcomed a baby boy with Anushka Sharma in February, will be back in action with this game.
