PBKS vs CSK Highlights, IPL 2024: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) beat Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 28 runs in match number 53 of the IPL 2024 at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala on Sunday (May 5). PBKS won the toss and elected to bowl first at their home venue. While they did pick up a wicket early, getting rid of Ajinkya Rahane inside the powerplay, CSK recovered to end the fielding restrictions at 60/1. However, Chennai lost their way in the middle and ended up with 168/9 in their 20 overs.


In response to CSK's total, PBKS were in the game for a brief while but eventually managed 139/9, succumbing to a defeat. Ravindra Jadeja was the star of the match for the winning team. The left-handed all-rounder first top-scored in the team's innings with a 23-ball 46 before finishing with exceptional figures of 3/20 off his 4 overs. Jadeja's innings was studded with 3 fours and 2 sixes while his victims with the ball included Prabhsimran Singh, Sam Curran and Ashutosh Sharma, with the latter two getting out in the same over.

MS Dhoni Out For Golden Duck In PBKS vs CSK IPL 2024 Clash


Meanwhile, MS Dhoni departed for a golden duck in the PBKS vs CSK IPL 2024 clash. Dhoni came into bat at number 9 for the first time in T20s as wickets continued to fell. However, much to the disappointment of those who wanted to see a Dhoni special, he was cleaned up by Harshal Patel off the very first ball he faced. Harshal had picked a wicket a ball before as well, marking the second instance of two wickets falling in the same over in CSK innings with Rahul Chahar also removing Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shivam Dube off successive deliveries of his first over.

Harshal and Chahar were the pick of the bowlers for PBKS as they returned with figures of 3/24 and 3/23 off their four overs respectively. But Jadeja's effort trounced theirs. With the ball, Jadeja's effort was accompanied by Simarjeet Singh and Tushar Deshpande both of whom finished with 2 wickets apiece with Mitchell Santner conceding only 10 runs off his 3 overs, while gettig a wicket. Shardul Thakur also got a wicket to his name.
